Sonja has come so far in the past 5 years since a car accident nearly took her life. She remains super strong and stedfast, insisting to see her recovery through while inspiring others and displaying her unwavering faith in our Savior, Jesus.
The overwhelming amount of medical bills has been intimidating to say the least and outright terrifying at times. However, all of our needs are continually met through impossible circumstances. The Lord’s presence is always amplified when we patiently trust in Him.
Her 32nd surgery is currently being scheduled. The successful outcome will see her out of an eyepatch for the first time in 5 years since the accident, which left her without a right eye, a sense of smell and constant facial nerve pain.
Recently Sonja’s upper bridge failed. With the loss of her front teeth, she has been dependent on upper and lower dental prosthetics. We learned a few weeks back that one of the teeth that held the upper bridge had lost blood supply over time and died. She had a root canal that temporarily solved the problem.
Since then, we found the tooth holding the bridge on the opposite side had been fractured from the original trauma and was no longer capable of supporting the bridge. The solution was to extract both teeth and graft bone with the hope they will support implants and a new bridge.
If the new implants aren’t strong enough, additional teeth will have to be extracted and more implants installed. Sonja will also need bone grafts to fill voids due to that fact her jaw was broken in 5 places.
We stand in faith and agreement for her teeth to be restored with the least invasive procedures. We pray that only perfection is achieved. It’s truly incredible to watch the Lord work and see Sonja through to completion. The level of injuries can only be mended by the Great Physician whose love and grace give us everything we need to persevere in mind, body and spirit.
Thank you for your continued love and support!

A note from Sonja:
Hi everyone, I want to thank you all so much for your support...and to those who have followed my recovery since the beginning of the accident. You have encouraged me through incredibly hard times with your kindness, care and support. I truly can't believe I've now had 31 surgeries in these last 5 years! God is so good, and He never fails us. His grace creates beauty where there is none. I love this quote by Max Lucado "Meet your fears with faith." That is what we are all to do, in every circumstance. Blessings to you all, and much love to you all.
