Dear Friends,

This is my friend Bwambale Erisa who is the director of the Bright Model Orphange School in Mwembe, Uganda.

He is responsible for the care and Christian education of 195 children at the school aged between 5 and 13.

In May 2020 there was very heavy rain for days which led to floods, which washed away their gardens - see gallery for before and after photos- which they rely upon for making meals for the children.

Now it is July and they are running out of food and are in an extremely stressful situation of hunger, fear of starvation and wondering how to feed the children.

When I heard this I encouraged Bwambale to make a video about it, and this is his video.

Please also see the certitifcates for the school and thew letter of endorsement from Associate Pastor Maathe Samuel from the Christian City City Church (C3).

Please can I ask you to pray for a way to be found for them to be able to feed the children and to re-establish their gardens, to completely set them free from hunger. Please pray for Bwambale and his wife and everyone at the school to be given strength and endurance, and for them to be given peace in the days ahead, and for God’s will to be done. My friend is looking thin in this video. It is real and urgent.

If you feel prompted to give in response to this prayer request, please do so. The goal of $3000 is set to enable them to buy food for all the children and themselves, and to re-establish their gardens as soon as possible.

Thank you and God bless you

Update #5

Dear friends,

Bwambale has just sent me more photos of his latest purchase of food for the school. Please see in the gallery for the latest photos.
It is truly amazing how this fundraising system is working. Thank you all so much for your generous donations to help Bwambale feed the children at the Brightmodel Orphanage school. Thank you all so much for doing God's work on this earth.

I have now set up a second Givesendgo campaign which is for the next stage of building a solution for the school, which is to buy 2 acres of land so that they will be able to *grow their own food*, to move beyond buying food, and also to free them from the pressures of repeatedly finding money to lease land. The price of 2 acres is $5,600 USD which is very affordable compared to other parts of the world. Bwambale has made a video showing the land which can be seen on the new fundraiser called "To buy 2 acres to grow food for an orphanage".

Thank you again,

God bless you

Elisabeth

Hello friends from around the world.
Thank you all so very much for your prayers and gifts of money.  Thank you GiveSendGo. It is so amazing to see this method of fundraising working. As Bwambale always says to me, All Gory to God.
Bwambale and I have been talking about what to do next. I have decided to extend this campaign to the end of November and possibly longer. The money received so far has enabled Bwambale to buy food for the children at the school.. It is helping to meet their short term critical needs - which continue - but is not meeting their long term needs  and goal of self-sufficient food production. Buying land is the best solution and is amazingly affordable compared to land in other parts of the world. Bwambale has identified suitable land which is for sale, costing $5,000 USD. When we look at the fundraising goals of other campaigns we see that this is a realistic goal and it is incredibly exciting to think that they really might be able to buy land through the help of other Christian brothers and sisters around the world. He has made a video and taken photos of the land. I am going to set up a separate campaign to raise funds to buy the land, but also keep this campaign going in the meantime to continue helping them to buy food in bags from the shop.
So, I will upload the photos here, but I will upload the video to the new campaign which will be called "To buy land for self-sufficient food production at the Bright Model Orphanage School."
Thank you all so much.
God bless you all.

Update #3
October 5, 2020
facebook twitter

Hello everyone,
Please see the new photos on the gallery of the children eating the food which has been purchased using your donations received here.

Bwambale says, "Please convey my sincere thanks to all who donated and may God tell them I appreciate all their contributions as they have created a positive change in feeding the needy children. May God richly bless every hand that contributed and tell them much more is still needed as we need to have land where we can grow our food as this will reduce on the daily costs of buying food."

I have been talking with Bwambale about extending this fundraiser. We are both amazed to see that that our initial goal has nearly been reached and it is so hugely encouraging. But perhaps we can continue? Because their need is great, which is evident from the photos, and of course the need for food never stops. But it would be so much better to grow their own food than to repeatedly buy it. I've been talking with Bwambale about the possibility of getting land for growing food which won't be at risk of floods and he says there is some suitable land nearby which is available for lease. He will make a video of it soon.
Thank you so much everyone for your donations.
God bless you

Update #2

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

A few days ago I forwarded all the recently donated funds to Bwambale,- over $1330 NZD.

Today Bwambale successfully bought food for the children and has sent a copy of the receipt and photos and a video. I will upload these to the gallery. He says, "The amount spent is $1300 and the balance was used to transport the food to school. Thank you so much for the care and all who donated. We really appreciate the efforts of everyone who contributed. May God bless you abundantly."

Isn't it amazing how we are able to do this. From people anywhere in the world, through GiveSendGo to someone in NZ (me), and then to Uganda. Thank you so much also to GiveSendGo for making this possible.

Clearly from these photos and video, their need is great. I have asked Bwambale to make a list of priority needs. Top of his list is to lease (or even buy) land, so that they can begin to grow their own food again, instead of buying food.  I will write more in the next update.

Thank you again,
God bless you,

Elisabeth

Dear friends,
I have just been messaging with Bwambale and he is so very grateful for all of the donations so far. God bless you all. Thank you all so much. We are so amazed that the campaign is now over half way!!!
I have just uploaded 3 new photos to the gallery which Bwambale has sent to me showing the food which he bought with the first 5 donations.
There is also a photo of a recommendation letter dated 27 July 2020 from Assistan Pastor Maathe Samuel of the C3 Church in Kasese.
The most recent donation will take a few days to come through to me then I will forward it to Bwambale, and then he will be able to buy even more food and seeds.
He is so grateful and so happy. He says, "May God bless you all abundantly."
Thank you so much.
