We’ll dive into both of these in just a moment, but first, let’s talk about why Giving Tuesday is so important. 

Why Give on Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a unique opportunity to live out Christ’s example. When we sacrificially give of ourselves to serve others, we honor God, strengthen our faith, and learn to hold everything we have with open hands. After all, everything we have belongs to the Lord. Generosity is a way to steward His blessings and love others well.

True generosity also flows from a heart of gratitude for all that God has done for us. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 9:7, “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver”. Giving cheerfully and freely is one way we reflect the grace and goodness of God to the world around us.

And what makes Giving Tuesday so powerful is that it’s a global movement. People everywhere are coming together to give and share hope, creating a collective impact far greater than any individual effort. When you join the Giver Army, your monthly donation is pooled with others and turned into grants that are then awarded to campaigns on GiveSendGo. But then what? Lives are transformed and people experience hope during what might otherwise feel like a hopeless time.

It might be someone’s rent for the month, diapers and formula for a baby, 100 Bibles for a mission trip, or even Christmas presents for a family.
