In the Book of Nehemiah, we find Jerusalem in a state of ruin and the Israelites, in misery. But after receiving visions from God, two men – Ezra and Nehemiah – set out to transform the people’s quality of life by sharing the teachings of the Old Testament and embarking on an ambitious building project to restore Jerusalem to its former glory.
We can’t help but feel that’s exactly what Portsmouth is in need of today. We believe the foundation to a better future is to create a new home for the Portsmouth Christian Church and for all those who wish to live by and spread His word. Afterall, the Holy Bible says that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
At its core, this building will house a school that will be free to attend to all children in need. Top notch teachers will help give our kids the knowledge they need to succeed in today’s world, rooted in Christian principles, and with a focus on technology. Our gym and athletics facilities will not only keep our kids healthy, but also provide a safe space and environment for productive after-school activities to help keep our young adults off the streets. Our main worship hall will provide a venue for concerts, guest speakers, and events that bring the community together to help share in the Glory of God!
These new facilities will not only be transformative to the Portsmouth Christian Church, but to the entire Portsmouth community and hopefully, change lives forever.
