Hello! Thanks for coming!
First of all, my name is Mark Isherwood. I use the moniker "isherwoodme". It's not because it's all about ME, but it kinda is...lol. It's about my music. The music in my head yearning to be heard the way I hear it. But, it's actually my name. My last name followed by my first and middle initials. So, it was kind of cool I was able to grab the website http://isherwood.me
I want to complete my first quality album of well-produced songs. I have a lot of bits of songs and stuff I threw together at different times in my life that is out there, but I have not set out to complete some of the many songs in my head (and written down) so others can hear them how I hear them. I have been writing songs even before I learned how to play a musical instrument.
The first instrument I learned was the electric bass. My brother had left home and left behind his Montgomery Ward catalog electric bass and amplifier. One day I asked my mom if I could take it out of the closet and try to learn how to play. She said sure and from there it went. I'm thinking probably 1975-76 at the latest. Paul McCartney's "With a Little Luck" was on the radio and I tried to hear the notes and play along. My sister walked in and said "What are you playing? Not that!" I really didn't know what I was doing so I bought some music store books to learn with and kept trying to play by ear. In the interim, a few fellow musicians helped me out along the way. I play many more intruments now.
Songs come to me nearly every day, some of them I write down, some I don't. Some of them are probably the same song revisited. lol. For some reason, I need motivation to start getting serious about recording and actually putting my songs out there. This fundraising, I am counting on, is it. When I see people who want me to succeed by contributing to the success of this project, I will be compelled to complete it with gusto!
I will be distributing an old-fashioned "insert" with my music that will include all the musicians, song lyrics, etc, like most musicians/bands did in the 70s/80s. Anyone who makes a contribution toward this project will have their name printed somewhere on the CD insert. If you download the album or stream it, there will be an accompanying pdf file of the insert to download. Contributors of $10 or more will receive the opportunity to get the entire album for free online when it is done. Contributors of $20 or more will be sent a physical copy of the CD when complete.
If you find that you can't help or contribute at this time, please share the link to this project to help spread the word.
If you can't financially support my music at this time, please feel free to share the link to this fundraiser, and keep my efforts in prayer to succeed beyond my wildest dreams. I have written some songs with a particular artist to perform them in mind, but that's a ways off, because everyone wants a professional recording to listen to first, so here I am. I am going to try to continually produce music until I run out of songs (which will be a very long time). If you want me to write a particular song for you, I can do that also.
I have updated my campaign to renew monthly, so I may just release my music as I complete it instead of waiting for a full album of music.
I thank you for reading this far and your consideration of supporting me in this lifelong venture.
Keep In Tune,
Mark
