Help a disabled Vet purchase his home

Call to action for our San Antonio community:  My name is Jarrett and I am a Realtor in the San Antonio area.  I have a client who is a 23 year old Marine veteran who was just discharged 2 weeks ago with 100% disability from his service to our great country.  He has a baby on the way and just enrolled full-time in schooling to become a medical assistant as a stepping stone to become a physical therapist. I have known him since he was 16 years old and have watched the hurdles he over came to become the man he is today with such a bright future in front of him.

He is currently under contract to puchase his first home.  The builder priced the home too high and the appraisal came in over $25,000 short.  The home builder is wanting a substantial amount of money out of pocket to complete the sale, of which he does not have.  I have offered to reduce the broker commission to merely $150 to cover the broker cost of the transaction to assist in giving the builder more money in their pocket but are still requiring more.

I am starting this campaign as I am determined to not let this man become a statistic and be homeless in 2 weeks.  We have about 3 days to get this figured out.  I am not looking for any recognition or publicity in creating this and as stated, I am not gaining anything financially from this sale.  I am simply asking for our community to pull together with strength and show our support and gratefulness to this young man for his service.  Any donation amount will help us move towards that goal with our limited time frame.

Thank you for your time,

Jarrett

Message from Emmanuel:

I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who was willing to donate money in order for me to move in to my house.  In all honesty, when Jarrett had told me this was something he wanted to do, I was not very optimistic.  My life experience has not witnessed very much kindness from people.  I usually experience the worst that people have to offer.  Your donations were not only a huge help for my family and I, but it brought more to the table in opening my eyes that there are still people out there willing to give, rather than take.  You gave something of your own to someone you didn't know, had no relationship with, and had no ties to.  This is the example of generosity and selflessness that I hope to instill in my children.  Again, thank you so much.
