So the wound care and sponge change went well this morning but they are still having to watch the wound right below his Wound Vac. They took the stitches out and it had a lot of drainage today so there is a good possibility of it opening as well and also having to have a Wound Vac. He goes back in on Thursday to have his sponge changed out again. Now the new issue at hand is that he has three types of bacteria growing in his wound that are causing infection and need to be treated by IV for two weeks! There is a possibility he can go home and just have to come back to get his antibiotics. As of right now we don’t know when he gets to go back home it just depends on the infectious disease team and what they think is the best treatment plan for him. 😞 They are concerned with the infection in the wound spreading to the bone since his femur is cut in half. I will keep updating as I know more but I’m constantly just waiting on new information. Thank you again everyone for all the continued love, support, and prayers! 🙏
🙏Requesting another round of prayers! 🙏
Kolden had to go back into surgery because one of his wounds has formed a small hole in the stitches that they need to repair. They ended up having to place a wound vac. We are back in the Hospital until hopefully Monday or Tuesday.
He has 8 lacerations on the left side of the body from behind his left knee up to his lower back. His femur was cut half way through the bone. His foot is broken in 3 places and two of his toes were severed at the bone but were repared and being held together by pins. His heel bone was cut in half as well as 4 tendons on his ankle and toes. He also has two lacerations on his left arm. Most of his lacerations were cut to the bone. He is a living miracle and we are so grateful and blessed that all of his injuries are reparable! 🙏
