On December 29th, 2020, Marissa suffered a severe concussion at work. Since that time, she has been in and out of the hospital battling challenges with both her heart and brain. Significant problems with her blood pressure dropping and coding led to her having to have a pacemaker implanted. Now she battles dysautonomia (automatic nervous system dysfunction), which causes frequent seizures. The seizures have led to numerous injuries requiring trips and stays in the hospital. By the end of the year, Marissa will likely be facing brain surgery at the University of Utah as well to place a pacemaker type device on her vagus nerve.
In the midst of all of this, the Bolton family has quite the journey. Their oldest daughter, Belle, has had to be hospitalized multiple times, the family has battled Covid, AJ has changed jobs, they have moved, and they have faced numerous other trials. Marissa's parents have also had a lot of time away from their jobs as they have taken care of Marissa and Belle.
Through these trials, the medical and financial bills have acrued. While Marissa's injury on the job is a different subject, the cost of AJ having to be out of work quite a bit, the cost of Cobra not kicking in with his new job, the costs of hospitalizations and doctors appointments have added up. It is for this reason, we are setting up this Give Send Go crowdfunding for the Bolton family and appreicate any financial assistance you feel led to contribute.
(This fundraiser has been set up by Emily Loibissio. Please note that for full transparency, I have given Marissa and AJ 100% access to this account and the funds raised.)
