We ask your love, help, and prayers for Heather, Haven, Ashlyn, Mac, and Zeke, who have so suddenly lost their beloved husband and father, Dave Saylor.

On Thursday, May 6, while watching a movie with his family, Dave suffered a sudden and fatal cardiac episode, and paramedics were unable to revive him.

Dave was a renaissance man; a talented chef, a farmer, a craftsman, a skilled hunter, a brother, a father, a husband, and a best friend.  Above all, he cherished his family deeply and they always came first. His talent for everything was apparent in all he did.  We would often talk about various items that I needed for the farm and he would always say "just build one" and would already be halfway here with a plan before we got off the phone.  He was always willing to help and give his service to all he encountered. Dave's sense of humor was his best quality and he had an infectious laugh that could make anyone smile.  Sarcasm was Dave's love language and while we always rolled our eyes, we loved him for it.  He loved to travel with his family and be in the outdoors.  Fishing, kayaking, hiking, and camping were all activities that the whole family routinely enjoyed together, and his BBQ was the stuff of legend.

Dave has been the sole provider for his family, while Heather homeschools the kids. Now all of that weight falls on Heather's shoulders, but we can help her carry it.  Dave was always willing to help anyone who needed it and now we can help his family carry on to the next chapters of their life with security and a foundation to help them rebuild the life that has been thrown into disarray. This is what your donation, no matter how small, provides for his wife and children.

We are grateful for any contribution you can make and are especially grateful for your prayers in this time of grief.

Update #2 - Barn Raising for Dave's Mama
May 13, 2021

Dear friends, this Saturday a number of Dave and Heather's friends who are skilled in building/electrical work are coming together to donate their labor, skill and time to finish the house addition intended for Carol Saylor, Dave's mother. This addition has been in the works for months (too many months, really), with the idea that Heather will be able to help care for Carol, and Carol will be able to be with her grandbabies, but it hit a snag with the contractors a month or so ago, and has languished, unfinished, with Carol in limbo and her personal belongings in a storage pod. It's getting finished (finally) this weekend, and I have raised the donation goal again to ask for help paying for building materials to complete this project so that Carol can finally move into her home. Thank you so much for your generous gifts and your prayers; God bless you all. - Karis

Friends, your generosity has been overwhelming. I have increased the goal to $30,000, in the hopes that we can give Heather six months to find her feet. Thank you for your gifts, your very dear messages, and your prayers. - Karis
