Message from Greg: Saturday, February 13th

With sadness in my heart, Mr Bandit left us this morning for the Rainbow Bridge.

The cancer went through him to quickly for us to stop.

I am shocked and speechless as one might expect, this happened so suddenly.

Thank you to everyone who donated to his fundraiser to help pay for his scans.

Dear Lord,

We cannot thank you enough for creating such wonder companions.

Someone there to celebrate with us,
Someone to cry with us,
Someone who accepts us and all of our faults,
Someone who will not judge you,
Someone who will always take our worries away...

We are reaching out to you in regards to one of our Patriot Group members who needs our help but won’t ask.

As some of you know Greg Hinaman has been helping with the SOS 716 Save Our Seniors group, what many of you don’t know is that he has been battling Bladder Cancer since 2015, but when you see him you wouldn’t know it with all of his energy and ideas. He has been a major hand in the progression of the group and keeping us organized and makes a laugh at all of his antics when we are out serenading our seniors.

Greg has a dog named Bandit that he rescued 2 years ago when Bandits previous owner passed away. Bandit has been diagnosed with possible liver disease or cancerous tumors, he won’t know until he has abdominal scans performed on Tuesday February 2nd. If the scans show here hasn’t been too much damage, then he will recover - but that comes with price with future treatments to get him back on the mend.

I know I’m putting Greg’s personal business out there, but in the long run I done think he’ll mind.

When I asked him what this was going to cost him, he told me the scan alone will cost almost $500, then the medications and future vet visits will run about another $1,000.

I’m asking if there is anything you can spare to help ease these unexpected expenses...I’m sure he will be grateful.

Greg’s past for the last 30 years has been filled with giving back to the community. That’s all he does is serve himself up for others, I’ve overheard him saying that he would do without, so others may have.

His Horror based Charity Foundation has raised thousands of dollars for Make-A-Wish and has granted over 1,000 Wishes. His group has also
saved countless lives with his blood drives. Before being diagnosed he was a platelet donor. His group has collected over 5 tons of food for the needy in just a 5 year period, and they have helped to keep the homeless warm with clothing drives.

Greg posted in the SOS page in late December, because he thought we should know how his past can help the group. I was amazed at the list of awards and accomplishments, it’s quite staggering, local charity foundations adore him, see for yourself, here is the link he posted.
