Dear friends, family and kind-hearted supporters,

We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits to ask for your support for Bethany Schweitzer, who is courageously fighting leukemia. After exhausting other treatments, Bethany is now going through a bone marrow transplant – a critical, life-saving procedure that will hopefully lead her to remission and, ultimately, recovery.

This journey will not be easy. Following the transplant, Bethany will need to stay in isolation for 100 days to prevent any risk of infection, as her immune system rebuilds. During this crucial time, the boys will be living elsewhere while DJ will be by her side as her primary caregiver. But this will require DJ to be on FMLA leave, unpaid, through the 100 days – an added challenge as they navigate medical bills, daily expenses, and the physical and emotional toll of this journey.

We’re asking for help to ease the financial strain so they can focus on healing and recovery. Your generosity will help cover: out of pocket medical expenses, living expenses during unpaid FMLA leave, essential items needed for the long isolation period, gas for frequent hospital appointments, and additional expenses for the boys' caregivers.

We have been blown away by the number of people who have expressed desire to provide tangible assistance. Every dollar, share, and word of encouragement brings us one step closer to getting them through this difficult time.
