"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

Last Thursday, October 21, my older sister Elizabeth and her three children (Leah, 8, Jude, 7, & Jackson "Jack", 1) were in a car accident just outside Charleston, SC. All we saw was a text saying, "I was just in a bad accident with the kids...We are going to Summerville Medical". Very scary for our entire family. It was an accident involving another car but the Lord graciously spared Elizabeth, Leah and Jude from severe injury. They all got away with bumps, bruises, scrapes and some fear of cars but we praise God for the preservation of their lives and general well-being! Unfortunately, the littlest Gornall, Jackson "Baby Jack" sustained a skull fracture with two brain bleeds and possible damage to his left eye. He was admitted transferred to a better hospital and admitted for 24 hours but has since been released! **They have also most likely lost their family car (we will update when we know more from the Insurance company).** Baby Jack is not only the apple of his parents' eyes but all who know and love him. It's difficult to watch this sweet little baby have to go through this pain and all the testing/poking/prodding. But we KNOW God was working even in this. In the accident, Jack's car seat was pushed forward and while his head collided with older brother Jude's, Jude was held back in his booster seat from hitting the center console! God is gracious! Jack is doing better each day but it will take time to heal a skull fracture (praise God he was cleared from having surgery!) and there will be follow-ups with his Neurologist and an Opthamologist. Healing will take awhile and we are trusting that to the Lord.

The Gornalls just moved from NJ to SC in July and anyone who has moved knows that that really drys up any and all funds, even emergency funds. This was an accident, unforeseen and will now lay a heavy financial burden on a family that is hurting from the scary event of a car accident and a serious injury to Baby Jack. Hospital and specialist bills add up very quickly, there may be legal fees if anything involving the other car comes up as well as needing to repair or replace their family car.

While our prayers are heard and being answered, I know, and have been approached multiple times by, people would like to do something a bit more tangible to help. Many of us desire to give and meet others' needs financially/physically or even just know how to pray more specifically for God's provision in these circumstances. I get it, I like to do that as well. Our God not only meets our needs but also gives GENEROUSLY from His abundance, to give to others is a good desire. So we are creating this in order for people who desire to bless the Gornalls in this way and/or for people to see any updates and prayer requests. If you cannot give financially, could you please join us in prayer for complete healing and for God to meet every need of the Gornall Family in this time? THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS! I strongly believe the Lord heard and answered our prayers in preserving the lives of the Gornall Family last week!!

Our sweet boy Jackson is taking it easy during the healing process. We were told his head fracture should fuse on its own and will not need surgery. Praise the Lord. He does have a couple of follow up appointments. As a family we will be speaking with trauma counselors and are SO incredibly grateful for the love and support for our community.

I (Beth) heard back from the insurance company regarding our family car that I was driving. It is a total loss. We are sad, but the insurance agent who assessed it said she is grateful we are ok considering how terrible the car looked. We had angels protecting us that day!
Moving forward, we will need to find a safe vehicle to fit our family of 5 with three car seats.

In the days to come we are expecting medical bills that include 2 ambulance rides, a CT scan and MRI. Jack will also need another MRI in December.

Thank you again for all your support as we navigate this difficult time. You are a blessing!

Love,
Craig, Beth, Leah, Jude and Jack

Jack was released from the Hospital on Friday evening and is getting better and better each day. My son and I were able to Facetime with him in Hospital and the next morning when he was home. He is still not himself but there is marked improvement. God is healing him and closing that fracture. Please continue to pray for Elizabeth, Leah and Jude as they continue to heal and deal with soreness and fear of driving.

I'll try to post pictures but he is getting better each day. And they were supposed to hear about the car situation from their Car Insurance today. Still praying over that as well. Their church has been so kind and loving and meeting different needs. we are immensely grateful for their Church Body in SC.

PRAYER REQUESTS

  • Jackson's FULL healing
  • Emotional well-being for Gornall Family, especially those in the accident.
  • Car situation
  • Medical Expenses
