Hello, I am Theresa and the great-aunt of these baby girls. I am setting this up to help pay for the NICU care that Edith is going to require before she is able to come home. As you can imagine, Jenna, the mom, is spending all her time at the hospital with her precious baby. Garrett has just started a thriving business with his brother, and is not yet in a stable situation to have the necessary funds to pay for all the treatment Edith is going to require. By ourselves, we cannot do much. But $25 here and $50 there mount up and together we can all help Garrett and Jenna bring home this precious baby girl they have longed for.

June 5th, 2024 was the best day of our life. At 8:25 and 8:26 am our baby girls Edith Lynn and Elaine Rose Wheeler were born. They decided to make their entrance into the world early at 24 weeks and 4 days. Both babies weighed in at 1 lb. 7 oz. 13.25" long. The most perfect baby girls you'd ever see in your life. At least that's our feelings about them. Right after birth they were transferred to the NICU where they would begin treating them right away to make sure they were stable and healthy.

June 6th, 2024. The worst day of our life. Around 12:30 am we had gotten a call that Elaine was having some issues staying stable and needed some attention. We got out of bed and went down to the NICU to be there with her. Again around 2:30 we got woken up to a NICU nurse telling us that Elaine was not doing good and we needed to go see her right away. We made it there just as they were getting Elaine's heart rate back up. She kept fighting and fighting and being so strong but unfortunately shortly after that she began to crash again and no matter what they did she was just too tired. At 3:20am we had lost our baby girl Elaine Rose. She had suffered from a major pneumothorax and after fighting so hard she ultimately went to go meet God.

June 10th Update on Edith: The doctor is very positive right now. They are clamping off the chest tube to see how things go. They are putting in a PICC line so she doesn't have to be stuck with needles so much. Edith is holding on strong and all we can do is stay strong for her. She has a long stay in the NICU and a huge mountain to climb but with the team we have around us both in and out of the hospital I know our baby girl will make it.
