In November 2019, when Mom heard that we had begun planning the 12 To LiFE Children & Youth Medical/Dental Mission To the Dominican Republic, Mom, then 85 years old became excited and was ready to go on missions again with the 12 To LiFE team. As she reminisced on the many years she had sown her life in serving on missions to the Dominican Republic, she knew that this trip would be much different. Together we believed that God would reap the harvest she and others had sown throughout those years. Although she was not able to join in the LiFE Children & Youth Medical/Dental Mission in April 2021, still, Mom worked diligently in helping plan for this worthwhile humanitarian effort.
Mom was well in her 70's when she served on several mission trips to the Dominican Republic. With her last, being in 2010 when I joined her. And, though we wanted to share this trip with her and share all the wonderful things God would do upon our return; deep down in our hearts we knew God had already made other plans for her. He wanted Mom to experience His saving grace up close with Him, and so on New Years Eve, God called her home to her eternal rest.
Mom will not be with the mission team here on earth; but we are confident that she has a front row seat and will rejoice in Heaven with the Lord and the angels, of the many souls won to the Kingdom in this harvest. The seeds have been sown and are ready for the harvest!
From April 12, 2021 to April 16 2021, the volunteer team of 12 To LiFE will embark on the LiFE Children & Youth Medical/Dental Mission: the most challenging, yet the most life-transforming, and rewarding humanitarian mission since our inception to the province of San Pedro de Macoris, in the Dominican Republic.
For five (5) days, we will be partnering with medical and dental professionals from the International Medical Relief organization, and the KinderSmile Foundation, along with students, and non-medical volunteers to provide free dental, medical clinics and educational services. In addition, religious services will be held each evening to share God's love. We estimate that we will be serving more than 1000 children and youth from that province and the surrounding areas.
12 To LiFE is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to finding solutions to eradicate many of the abuses and neglect of children and youth. The foundation for the organization is built on the premise that everyone can spare at least 12 minutes of their day to pray for LiFE... a child's LiFE in need, And through the contributions of many, 12 To LiFE becomes the arms and legs to help children in need.
Since its inception in 2012, we have partnered with local, state, and government agencies in being a resource hub for parents contemplating fostering or adopting children. Internationally, the 12 To LiFE vision have supported schools, orphanages, group homes, and medical clinics in parts of the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Jamaica. With the help of Oral Roberts University and caring individuals, we have been able to ship much needed First Aid kits, portable Dental units, school supplies, clothing, personal products, and toys; just to name a few to children.
We need your help! We would like to join with you to help our team in securing the much-needed medicines, medical supplies, and equipment that will be used during the daily free clinics; as well as, tents, chairs, tables, equipment, school supplies, sports equipment, hygiene and personal items for children: And even COVID-19 PPE supplies.
The 12 To LiFE volunteer team is delighted to share our gifts, talents, and ministry with the children, youth, and families of the Dominican Republc. We thank you for your donations, favorable contributions and for standing with us in prayer on this LiFE-changing mission to children.
Mom will not be here in April...But, through your donations and support, you too can share in the joy of seeing children live a healthy, happy and transformed LiFE
Your prayers, support, and donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
