Thank you to my amazing wife Melissa for setting this campaign up for me. This is the first time I've had a chance to sit down since hearing this horrible news.

This campaign is for my parents, Karen and James (or as they're known to their grandkids "Nanny and Pop"). Nanny and Pop retired to TN a few years ago from their home state of NJ. My younger brother Jason also moved to TN with them. Jason has struggled for years with mental health issues, that seem to have progressively gotten worse. With the lack of long-term care solutions my parents were faced with dilemma of either allowing him to become homeless or doing their best to find him resources and treatment options while he lived with them.

On Tuesday, Jason had an episode and attacked my parents. My father survived and was taken to emergency surgery and is currently in critical but stable condition. Sadly my mother did not survive the attack and passed away. Jason was later found in AR, after having taken his own life.

My father is now left with the responsibilities of retrieving his vehicle from AR, making arrangements for both his son and his wife, paying to have his home professionally deep cleaned and for his ongoing care. I am trying my best to help as much as possible, but there is a long, difficult journey ahead.
