Due Dissidence

It started as a blog. The blog became a podcast. The podcast became a show.

Exploding from a few dozen subscribers in the dark Covid Times of 2022 to100K on YouTube any day now, we want to thank our entire Dissident community, from the OG's who have been with us since the beginning, to the new ones signing up. We've been truly blessed with the greatest audience of inmates, layabouts, hopheads, and flight risks on the interwebs.

This is what we've done so far with your money:

-Our first documentary, "Ruckus" about the fascinating life and strange times of activist and Congressional candidate, Jose Vega.
-Bought tix for Jose and Russ to attend Rachael Maddow's book signing, shortly after 10/7, culminating in two now legendary interventions.
-Our second doc covering the New Hampshire primaries (really pissing off Dean Phillips, Maryanne Williamson and John Heilemann in the process).
-We joined Stella Assange, Jeremy Corbyn, Richard Medhurst, and thousands of others in London last February, to cover the Julian Assange appeal and raise awareness of his fight.
-Produced out first live show to sold out crowds, with special guests Jesse Jett, Jose Vega, and Tusker.
-Full on the ground coverage of all five days of protests at the DNC National Convention in Chicago, where we also hooked up with our friends Jimmy Dore, Nick Cruse, Rome, and Kit Cabello for joint livestreams of the events.
-And finally, this past February, we headed out to Seattle to cover the Worker's Strike Back organizing convention with Kshama Sawant, Chris Hedges, and Jill Stein, where we not only livestreamed all 8 hours, but participated as speakers.

For the next phase, this is what we have planned:

-Our most ambitious documentary to date: at the invitation of Chairman Omali Yeshitela, who's prosecution by the Biden administration set the stage for the egregious weaponization of the Justice Department against dissenting voices we see today, we plan on travelling to the Uhuru Movement base in St, Louis. There we will witness firsthand the resilience of the Uhurus who have miraculously managed to survive the decades-long efforts of the government and media to bury even the memory of powerful black socialist movements focused on self-sufficiency and independent community organization. Like the Black Panthers before them, the Uhurus provide their own media, education and economic support services. There's never been a more important time to bring this message of hope and solidarity to the widest audience possible.
-"A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having,"-Emma Goldman
We've had such success with our live shows, including our streaming event of puppeteer Kevin Augustine's The People Vs. Nature, with special guest Jimmy Dore, that we now plan to expand to an NYC arts festival in the Fall. This will include plays, poetry, comedy, live music, and panel discussions, ideally with some local luminaries (a lot of our favorite show hosts, activists and academics, live in the NYC area). We believe that as powerful an organizing tool as the online media is, there's no substitute for getting together in the same room and meeting face to face. Even if you can't attend in person, there's something special and communal about a live event in an actual venue that just can't be captured in any other form. And art is probably the most effective means of spreading a message ever devised-the Catholic church didn't spend over 1,000 years financing it because of their love of three-point perspective. This is also why so much effort has been put into controlling and destroying the arts over the past several decades. We need to reclaim the arts and bring powerful agitprop back into our toolkit.

We know you've been hurt before by Turks bearing promises of investigative journalism, and others with half-baked van schemes that never materialized, even after your money went into their bank accounts. But we did exactly what we said we'd do with your money so far, and that's what we're going to continue to do going forward. So, if the listed projects sound like something you want to do your part to help make happen, your contribution, whether it's a buck or a gazillion, is much appreciated.

Thanks for your support!
