Our hearts ache as we share that Coach Carlos "Carlitos", who was loved by so many, passed peacefully at the age of 30 on September 29, 2023. For the many he didn't want to burden and wanted to protect, he battled and fought silently. His selflessness, unconditional love, and especially his passion for coaching volleyball are what kept him going each day.

He lived a full life and shared his many passions and talents with others generously to build community. People from all over created deep connections with him in many ways such as: cuisine, music, volleyball, coaching, art, cinema, comedy, coffee, games, plants and culture.

As a family we felt optimism and this was the last thing we wanted to prepare for-- and we didn't. The days have been long as we face our new realities, but we are so grateful for the strength God has given us to continue pushing forward like he would have wanted.

Please consider supporting my parents as they take on the tremendous expense of honoring my brother's life at his memorial and begin focusing on healing together.

I miss my brother deeply, but the least I can do is care for the parents that loved my brother with their whole hearts. I pray this will help my parents in reducing some of the financial distress that they are likely to face while trying to adjust to a life without our Carlitos.
