From a Christian standpoint, there are very few morally correct and safe places to take families today. People are unhealthier than ever before. Obesity – all time high! Divorce – all time high! Abuse, addiction, violence, suicide, sexual sin – all time highs! We don’t just have a mind, heart, and body crisis, we have an identity crisis. People don’t know who they are, or who’s they are. Lost in the confusion and lies of the world, people feel alone, helpless and without community

Gyms: Sex and vanity issues everywhere! A man with lust problems can’t get away from inappropriate attire, and women often feel sexualized. Some types of gyms are even known for their “hook-up” culture. In this promiscuous age, it is almost impossible to avoid all of this. Some people can’t afford a gym membership. Others spin their wheels as they don’t know where to start or what to do. Have you ever made a failed “New Years Resolution?” Everyone has. It’s usually fitness orientated.

There are very few places where a family can go to be entertained. Even so called “kids” movies have subliminal and demonic messages. Live music is mostly in bars. Popular music and culture are filthy. Even today’s Christian music is not without controversy. Did you see this years Grammy’s? Everyone is after our children and families. Wickedness is everywhere and righteousness is seldom seen. As a parent, this gravely concerns me, and I’ve had enough!

1 Timothy 4:8 says, “For physical fitness has some value, but Godliness has value in all things. Holding promise for the present life and the life to come.”

Christ Fit is a non-profit, donation-based gym, addressing the mind, heart, and body. Bridging the gap between Sunday and Sunday service, we use exercise and events to share the Gospel, reach the lost, and equip the saints. We are a community centered on Christ, uniting the church, and building a safe and healthy environment for all ages, where no one is turned away.

Simply stated, Christ Fit shares the Gospel using fitness and events. We want to change the world and make Jesus famous, starting here in Coeur d’Alene Idaho. This community needs this, and we need you. I am asking for your help. Your financial support enables us to get into a building, purchase mats, gym equipment, sound and stage equipment, projectors – things like this that allow us the ability to get started in fulfilling God’s mission for Christ Fit CDA.

There are currently two sister locations: Christ Fit Gym Oklahoma and the founding model, Christ Fit Gym Louisiana. This forward thinking ministry began in Bossier City, Louisiana when God called Billy and Julie Weatherall to start a free gym where they used fitness to share the gospel. This ministry has led thousands to Christ and has become the heart beat of Bossier City. It has united believers of all walks of life and denominations, yet, it does not alienate the lost, or those who don't believe but still want a healthy environment for them or their families to get in shape. Before every group workout, there is prayer requests/prayer, then the gospel is shared through a 5-10 minute biblical message and then the workout and fun begins. You can join in on the group workout or do your own independent one, but you will hear the word of God and you will feel the love of Jesus Christ while you are there. This is not just a gym, it is a community. It's centered on Christ, but all are welcome, and no one is turned away.

The one difference between the Christ Fit Gym CDA ministry model and Oklahoma or Louisiana's Christ Fit, is that this one will be a multi-use facility. We will be bringing in entertainment and other events, all with the intentions of providing family friendly things to do, like, music, comedians and speakers, worship nights, open mic nights and family movie nights on the projector screen. Our goal is to pour the love of God into the community.

Inside, we will also have a "Fruits of the Spirit Smoothie Shop" where we will sell protein shakes, smoothies, coffee, and eventually more. We will host men's and women's groups to strengthen our walks with the Lord as well as numerous group workouts of different kinds and levels.

We do have the building and equipment picked out! The space has everything we need and are desiring for our humble beginnings. The site is over 10,000 square feet, with bathrooms (we hope to remodel into showers at some point), offices, an upstairs for lounging and ministry orientated groups, and more! This building was the old Tri-State Outfitters business and will make an excellent starting place for Christ Fit Gym CDA, but in order to get moving, we must acquire the funds quickly to get started and operational!

Our social media pages are up and running, and our website is being developed as we speak. The Lord has given us ample direction, and we are being obedient to that direction and calling. Which means starting this fundraiser now so we can acquire the building and get operational, which Lord willing, is soon!

We encourage everyone to include the Lord in their decision process and to be obedient to that. We believe God is up-to-something-BIG and we are beyond blessed and humbled to serve such a loving and mighty God and the community we live in and love!
