Hello, my name is Amelia Daniels. I am the Director of “Divine Source Ministries”, striving to minister to the hearts of people! I am raising this money because Divine Source Ministries is planning a Caregiver’s Conference. The Conference Date is October 26th, 2024 at Marconi Manor, Moffitt Blvd, Islip NY 11751.
I am trying to reach our goal as soon as possible. There are those in desperate need of this event and I would like to offer the conference free of charge to caregivers (non-professionals). If you or someone attending with you are not a caregiver, please prepare to donate at least $25 per person (tax deductible) for admission.
I have secured the venue location to have a nice sit down lunch. This conference would include presenters like social workers, chiropractors, rehab/nursing home staff, and mental health professionals. These presenters will all offer information to educate, enlighten, encourage and inspire caregivers on various available options that they may not know about regarding caring for their loved ones and caring for themselves.
I would like them to experience "a breath of fresh air" and a generally fulfilling day as they head back home to be back in the care trenches. I would also like to offer a few free hair salon gift cards, a few “Merry Maid” gift certificates, and a few other free gift cards to offer them an exciting change of pace from their sometimes stressful daily caregiving activities.
Caregivers are most often sacrificing their time and energy and deserve a day off to be appreciated and made to feel special!
There may be some who were caregivers and are currently not operating in that capacity but need emotional support as they heal from their past experience.
This is a subject that is very close to my heart, as I have been a caregiver for over 25 years. I was a caregiver for my dad, years ago and he had a heart transplant and other health challenges. I was then a caregiver for my aunt who had lung cancer.
I had a sister who had lung cancer along the way. My sister and I had gone to Arizona because she had hoped to receive treatment there. While there, my sister passed away, which I was not expecting. It was such a very hard hit that I had to come back home without her. Currently, my husband has been diagnosed with cancer and I am by his side in his battle. The type of cancer he was stricken with has caused him to have one eleven hour surgery on his back and a surgery on both of his arms in order to save his limbs. Thank God that he is doing pretty well, but I am still in caregiving mode so I am sympathetic to their needs.
Caregivers need to be encouraged and empowered. Caregivers go through great lengths and sacrifice to ‘care’ for their loved one and or friend. Caregivers deserve a day out where they can unwind a little bit, interact with others like themselves and receive some ‘care’ of their own.
Some are at the end of their rope, and a little time away can allow them to go back home refreshed and hopefully in better spirits to serve the patient that they are dealing with.
Please help Divine Source Ministries bring about this worthwhile effort. Help us support these forgotten ones as they often are alone as they care for their loved ones.
What a wonderful initiative, I founded Project R.E.S.E.T.S., to provide training, resources and connections to build up families facing trauma! This ministry is so needed.
This is a great thing your trying to do. God bless
