Someone gave enough money to restore my Bible apps on the App Store through 2026! Praise God!!! 🙌 I'd still be very grateful for prayers and any amount of additional financial support that you could provide. The additional funding would help ensure that my Bible apps remain available beyond 2026 and could even help me buy a new computer so I could continue to improve them and make new ones.
My name is Denton Kollar and I'm a follower of Jesus Christ in Ohio, USA. I love studying and sharing God's Word daily to encourage and edify myself and other Christians, and to plant seeds leading the lost to the Lord. 🌱
Some Background Context
In 2012 the Lord inspired me to begin working on a fun app designed to encourage the study of God's Word and hopefully even lead some to believe in Jesus Christ. God blessed me to be able to buy a computer needed to develop the app, and He also blessed me with the time and ability to learn how to use it as well as a multitude of other essential app development things. It was an enormous challenge for me and I almost gave up, but the Lord always gave me the strength and understanding I needed to keep making progress. Thanks to God, in 2013 I released my first app, Bible Book Quiz! Since then God has enabled me to create two more Bible apps: VerseLight and Bible Quiz+. These apps are free (VerseLight and Bible Quiz+ have optional in-app purchases), have mostly positive user ratings/reviews, and have been downloaded thousands of times.
The Reason For This Campaign
Every year since 2013, God has enabled me to pay a required yearly fee of $99 to keep my apps available on the App Store. However, I'm currently having some financial difficulty due to health issues and finding consistent work, so it's becoming increasingly difficult to pay this fee. If it isn't paid, my apps will be removed from the App Store. From my understanding, it's likely that users who have already installed my apps should still be able to use them even after that date, but new downloads won't be possible until the fee is paid.
Would you prayerfully consider helping me pay the $99 fee to keep my Bible apps on the App Store for another year? 🙏 The user ratings/reviews affirm that these apps are genuinely promoting study of God's Word in fun and unique ways, helping edify and encourage believers, and possibly even leading nonbelievers to Jesus Christ. I strongly believe that whenever God's Word is studied or shared it's like planting or watering seeds of His Word, and we know His Word always accomplishes His purpose! 📖
The Campaign Goal
If I'm blessed so much through your giving that the campaign's goal is surpassed, the additional amount raised would help me pay for subsequent yearly fees. Extra funding would also help me greatly with the purchase of a new Mac mini computer so I could, Lord willing, continue improving my Bible apps and making new ones. (A Mac computer is required to develop iOS apps and a Mac mini is the least expensive option. The Mac mini I purchased in 2012 can't run the newer software that's required to develop apps.) I'd also really like to make my apps available on other platforms like Android, so additional money raised would help a lot with that.
Even if this campaign's goal is not met, I know I'll still be blessed because I'll trust God has a better plan than what I had in mind! Maybe it's His will that my apps are removed from the App Store for a while until I can continue paying the fee myself or maybe they already served His purpose or maybe He has something way better in the works! I just need to trust God, remembering all things are possible for Him, and to Him be glory, forever and ever! 🙌
