We are the Parental Alienation & Legal Abuse Defense Network. We are an advocacy and awareness network to assist trauma survivors and people living with disabilities to address systemic abuse from the legal system in the US.

We are a community based service that focuses on helping parents organize who are dealing with the family courts, child support, and Child Protective Services through building coalitions.

We are currently asking for funds to help a Massachusetts mom named Jamie retain an attorney in Colorado after being coerced into compliance for an apparently illegitimate warrant in CO that was used to to take her kids from her care in MA after the father gave her written permission to take the children to MA to live there.  Temporary orders were even issued approving the children would live in MA, and the kids were still getting regular visits to CO.  However the courts refused to recognize the permanent orders after the temporary orders expired, and issued a warrant for Jamie's children.  They threatened to declare Jamie a "fugitive from Justice." 

The latest magistrate in the case has been extremely prejudiced against Jamie, refused to recuse herself despite evidence of her implicit bias, and has even discriminated against Jamie by denying accommodations for her disabilities, which violated the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a federal law. 

Instead of the magistrate being held accountable, Jamie is facing contempt of court charges, needing to file multiple appeals, and other charges without legal representation.  Jamie was finally allowed to get an attorney provided by the state, however he can only assist with her contempt charges, leaving her without legal representation for the remaining issues including fighting the presumed illegitimate warrant and getting her time with her children back.

In the event we fall short of the goal we will apply for additional funds for her case and hopefully find other grants to help with her legal expenses, so people who donate can rest assured that the funds will be used appropriately and she gets an attorney.
