Search for Noah's Ark: Core Drilling 2026

The Noah's Ark Scans team has permits to drill at the long-debated Durupınar Formation, the site that many believe to be Noah's Ark. We only have a few more weeks to use them.

In a landmark unanimous decision, Turkish officials voted to approve core drilling at the Durupınar formation, the boat-shaped site in the mountains of eastern Turkey that many believe is Noah's Ark. Radar has already mapped what looks like corridors and chambers under the surface, including one hallway that runs more than 250 feet. The next step is to drill narrow cores down into those spaces and send in Gopher, an underground robot built to go where a person cannot.

Then the ground freezes. The site closes until 2027.

We need $600,000 to put the drill in the ground this year. It pays the crew, the equipment, and the cost of getting both onto a mountain in eastern Turkey. The permits are already signed, and the underground drone 'Gopher' has already been built, fully equipped with a high-resolution camera and a dedicated soil-sampling system.
